A3. The road associates the rich and the poor. Both the rich and the poor use same road. The

road is used as a starting point for the journey to a new destination. The road takes the rich as

well as the poor to their destination.

A4. Metaphor : The poet implicitly compares himself with good fortune.

Another example of Metaphor : open road- here road means the road of life.

A5. The Road to School

The road to school is muddy.

But joyful to walk with buddy.

The road takes me to school.

On it we walk,run and ride cool.

  The Rising of the Moon by Lady Gregory: Summary On a moonlit night at an Irish wharf by the sea, three Irish policemen in the service of the occupying English government pasted up wanted posters for a clever escaped political criminal. Convinced that the escaped rebel might creep to the water's edge to be rescued by sea, they all hoped to capture him for the hundred-pound reward and perhaps even a promotion. Lady Gregory (1852-1932) The Sergeant sent his two younger assistants with the only lantern to post more leaflets around town while, uneasily, he kept watch at the water's edge. A man in rags tried to slip past the Sergeant, explaining that he merely wanted to sell some songs to incoming sailors. The Ragged Man identified himself as "Jimmy Walsh", a ballad singer. Character of ragged man from ' The Rising of the Moon'

Character of Ragged Man. The ragged man in the play is a true patriot who wants to see his country Ireland free from British oppression. He has heroic qualities. He introduces himself as a ballad singer and tries to bring about transformation in the sergeant through patriotic ballads. He is so natural in his disguise that the sergeant can't recognise his true form. The man succeds in arousing the patriotic feeling in the mind of the Sergeant. The man thereby escapes from being imprisoned again but he is greatful to the Seargeat  and promises him of his return to free his motherland from the enemy. This brings about the optimistic quality and also show his true love towards his country.
